What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, adaptability, and a strong commitment to growth—even in the face of unexpected challenges. Transitioning from dental hygiene to healthcare IT during a difficult time in my life taught me how to pivot with purpose, and I’ve built my career by being detail-oriented, dependable, and always focused on clear, process-driven communication.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that it’s not just about what you know—it’s about who you know; building meaningful connections, both within and beyond your field, is essential to personal and professional growth.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to never stop learning—stay curious, stay informed, and make it a habit to read industry publications to keep up with trends and changes.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in this field is having to prove myself while starting over, especially navigating age-related bias and the industry's tendency to favor those with more traditional hospital inpatient backgrounds.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Adaptability and continuous learning are values I hold closely in both my work and personal life. In healthcare IT, being a hybrid analyst allows me to bridge clinical knowledge with technical solutions—an asset when analyzing complex workflows like inpatient systems, especially with the support of a company that values ongoing education and growth.
